A setback for Alexis Salamakers in Milan. According to an announcement by the “Rossoneri” on Monday, the Belgian international attacking midfielder will be sidelined until next January due to an injury to his right ankle.
“Over the weekend, Alexis Salemakers underwent additional tests on his right ankle, the same ankle on which he had undergone surgery in 2024 to treat a fracture of the medial malleolus. The tests showed that, following the recent injury he sustained during training, the ankle has lost stability in the area where the previous surgery was performed. “Based on the test results, a specialized evaluation is currently underway to determine the most appropriate course of treatment,” stated the club’s official announcement.
Salemakers is expected to undergo another surgery.
This season, Salemakers has started in only two of the first five Serie A matches.
