It is understandable that this caused intense concern, with many consulting their lawyers and, more generally, a great deal of turmoil arising from the high-profile case involving City’s guilt regarding financial violations.
It was also only natural for the club’s management to communicate with and brief the players on the roster, although from day one, a video from Ferran Soriano explaining everything was sent to everyone associated with the club, from the top executive down to the last employee.

“Nothing has changed amid all this chaos that’s been going on lately. News is coming in gradually; the team has spoken with Gigi and the others, and everyone is calm. For now, everyone is focused on the big matches against Liverpool and Paris, and then the big issue will be addressed. Gigi has received assurances from City.”
