Di Marzio: “Panathinaikos and Roma in Advanced Talks Over Salah Eddin”

What the article states

Panathinaikos is stepping up its efforts to strengthen the left side of its defense, with the case of Anas Salah Eddin now at a very advanced stage and the next few hours considered crucial for the outcome of the deal.

The “Greens” are in open talks with Roma and, despite the signing of Christiansen, wish to add yet another reliable option to the left side of their defense. The 24-year-old Moroccan has emerged as the standout candidate, and talks between the two clubs have progressed significantly, though no final agreement has been reached yet.

Gianluca Di Marzio brought new developments to the story early this morning. According to the Italian journalist, Roma is in advanced negotiations with Panathinaikos regarding the transfer of Salah Eddin, with the potential deal involving a loan accompanied by an obligation to buy under specific conditions.

The key point is that much of the transfer’s outcome now rests in the hands of the player himself. The left back, born in 2002, is reviewing the final offer on the table, and his decision is expected to determine whether the deal will be finalized.

There is optimism in the “green” camp that the transfer can be finalized, with developments expected as early as Saturday. Panathinaikos has made a decisive move for the player, who was also on Olympiacos’s radar during the summer.

Salah Eddin is coming off a busy season in the Netherlands with PSV Eindhoven, where he played on loan from Roma. He made 24 appearances in the Eredivisie and the Champions League, and his overall performance throughout the year also earned him a spot on the Moroccan national team.

The Moroccan international was named to his country’s squad for the 2026 World Cup and saw playing time in four matches, further enhancing his competitive profile. After his loan ended, he returned to Roma with the goal of securing a spot on the roster, however, the situation at the Italian club does not seem to offer him the role he desires.
