Aris had an easy win against Anagennisi Karditsas and got off to a strong start in its official competitive schedule!
The Thessaloniki team dominated throughout the match, which was played at the Nea Efkarpia Stadium, enjoying a high percentage of possession, creating numerous scoring opportunities and finding the back of the net twice in the second half to secure a 2-0 victory and advance to the League Phase of the Superbet Greek Cup.
Michalis Grigoriou’s team missed several chances to take the lead in the first half, including a goal by Rafa Mir that was disallowed for offside, a play that sparked intense protests from Aris, but they took the lead in the 49th minute with a goal by Fantiga, before “sealing” the victory in the 67th minute with an own goal by Anastasopoulos.
Thus, Aris turns its attention to the league opener, in which it will face Kalamata (August 22, 8:00 p.m.) in Tripoli, while Anagennisi, which was very slow to regroup ahead of the new season, continues its preparations ahead of the start of its Superbet League 2 campaign.
