Asteras Tripolis stepped on the gas in the second half and, with three goals in 17 minutes, turned the match against Niki Volos into a walk in the park, securing their first win in the Greek Cup on Matchday 3 of the tournament. The Arkadians were the better team in the first half as well, but after the break they found the solutions they were looking for, with Pasalidis (own goal), Ricardinho, and Papakanellos finding the back of the net, with the latter even putting the icing on the cake with an outstanding solo goal.
Volos lineup: Tselios, Panikidis (70′ Kivrakidis), Makrygiannis, Tzanetopoulos (46′ Vafeas), Pasalidis, Hammond, Salamouras (61′ Plegas), Poleto, Pamlidis, Fernández (70′ Ligdas), Mantzis (61′ Loukinas)
