Devin Booker shared his personal take on the all-time starting five, and his selection has sparked intense debate due to one notable omission.
The Phoenix Suns star, on the sidelines of a golf tournament, was asked to name the five best players in NBA history. His answers came spontaneously, from inside the vehicle transporting the participants to the arena, but his list held a big surprise.
Booker chose Steph Curry, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Shaquille O’Neal, leaving out Michael Jordan, who is considered by most to be the greatest—or, at the very least, one of the two best players in the history of the sport.
The selection of the Suns guard is considered particularly controversial and has already sparked quite a bit of debate among NBA fans, as it is rare for an all-time greats list not to include the name of the legendary “Air Jordan.”
It’s worth noting that Booker has been playing for the Suns since 2015, and last summer he signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him in Phoenix through 2030.
