James Harden had nothing but praise for Mario Hezonja after the Cleveland Cavaliers wrapped up their training camp in Málaga.
The veteran guard emphasized the contributions the Croatian can make to the team and expressed his belief that he can become an important part of the Cavs this season: “Mario Hezonja is very good. He brings something to our team that we didn’t have before.”

The Cleveland star highlighted Hezonja’s physique and versatile playing style, noting: “He’s very strong and physically powerful. He can shoot, pass, finish plays near the basket, and drive to the basket.”
In fact, Harden made no secret of the high expectations for the 31-year-old forward, saying: “He really showed some great things today. I hope he’ll be a key player for us this season.”
For his part, Hezonja appeared determined to rise to the demands of this new challenge in his career, emphasizing that he already has his coach’s trust: “I already have the coach’s trust; that’s why they signed me. I’ll give 100% in every practice and every game.”
In fact, his goal isn’t limited to simply being part of the rotation. “I want to be a key player who contributes to the team’s victories,” he noted, adding: “There’s already a clear playing identity in the way the team plays, and I want to add my own elements and contribute to it.”
Given Harden’s glowing comments and Hezonja’s own statements, expectations surrounding the Croatian’s return to the NBA are high, with the Cavaliers expecting him to make a significant contribution this season.
