The French national team lost 110-72 to Murray State in a friendly match, however, the team consisted only of Sylvain Francisco and, for a few minutes, Gerson Yabousele, with the rest of the roster consisting mainly of players under 18 years of age, who will not be eligible for the “qualifying windows.” Panathinaikos’ newly acquired star, who scored 23 points (6-for-16 from three-point range), 2 assists, and 2 rebounds, was bothered by some negative comments on social media and didn’t hesitate to respond.
“Seriously now? For me, this friendly was my comeback, the same goes for Gerson (he came in at halftime); nobody knew each other, and there were players at different levels. We just all took the field and played against a team that’s been together since June 1st, with both an offensive and defensive system. They played with good intensity. We had some 17-year-olds—a team that was put together in just a few hours. “We’re trying to find our form. We have nothing to prove,” Francisco wrote on X.
