Iglesias saved Sevilla and left Valencia in last place

An important three points
ALPHANEWSLIVE

Sevilla celebrated a crucial three points with a 1-0 victory over Valencia at the “Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán” in Matchday 5 of LaLiga.

The home team created the most and most dangerous chances in the game, while Valencia, though they had possession for most of the match, struggled to pose a real threat to Vlachodimos’s goal.

Sevilla had a great chance to open the scoring in the 41st minute, when Kike Salas saw Dimitrievski make an outstanding save, while shortly afterward, Stasin hit the crossbar with a header in the 51st minute. On the same play, the Valencia goalkeeper had to make another save, stopping Castrin’s attempt.

The home team continued to press in the second half, with Fofana threatening in the 61st minute, but Dimitrievski made another save. Valencia, for its part, had its big moment in the 78th minute, when David Otorbi hit the crossbar.

Finally, the breakthrough came for Sevilla in the 81st minute. Kotsorasvili took a free kick, and Iglesias made a smart run into the box, rising higher than everyone else to head the ball into the net for a 1-0 lead.

The goal was reviewed by VAR for a possible offside, but it ultimately stood, with the home team holding on to their valuable lead until the final whistle.

Valencia tried to find the equalizer in the final minutes but failed to create a clear-cut chance, with Sevilla ultimately celebrating the victory. The Andalusians moved up to 10 points after 4 matches, while the “Bats” are in last place with just 1 point!
