With Christos Manda putting in a stellar performance, Lazio got off to a strong start in this year’s Serie A, defeating Bologna 1-0 at the “Renato Dall’Ara” Stadium.
The Greek goalkeeper was one of the standout players of the match, as he was called upon to make several saves and kept a clean sheet until the final whistle.
His save in the 48th minute was particularly crucial, when he made an impressive stop on Odgaard’s close-range header, while in the 76th minute he made another great save on a free kick by Bernardeschi, with the ball then hitting the crossbar.
The “golden” scorer for Lazio—which needed these three points more than anything else, both for competitive and psychological reasons—was Davide Frattesi, who, five minutes after entering the game, perfectly capped off an excellent combination with Dia and, with a powerful right-footed shot, scored the only goal of the match in the 59th minute.
