Stefan De Vrij has brought his tenure at Inter to a close after eight years and is set to don the green of Panathinaikos, significantly strengthening the defense of Jacob Nystrup’s team.

He took to social media to bid farewell to the club and the “Nerazzurri” fans, writing, among other things:

“It was an honor to wear this jersey and a privilege to become a member of this family. I always gave my all on the field, whether I was a starter or had limited playing time.

Love for a team isn’t measured in minutes, but by the dedication and respect you show every day. Now I want to test myself in something new, to pursue new challenges and opportunities.

I will always carry this team, this city, and of course every memory we share in my heart. Thank you to all of you who celebrated with us during the good times and made sure we never felt alone during the bad ones.”
