According to Spanish media reports, PAOK has set its sights on 25-year-old right back Rubén Sánchez, who played for Espanyol in La Liga last season.
Specifically, journalist Mateo Moreto reports that Elche is reportedly close to signing the player, but he notes that PAOK has also expressed interest in the Catalan player (since the Mikel Brencis deal has stalled), with PAOK representing a serious alternative for him.
Sánchez has made a total of 51 appearances for Espanyol, and has played on loan both at Granada, where he made 33 appearances and scored one goal, and at Mirandés, where he made 21 appearances.
In fact, his time at Mirandés coincided with Alessio Lissi’s tenure as head coach, a fact that strengthens the possibility that the Spanish right back is on the Italian coach’s transfer list.
Elche’s right-back has a name: Rubén Sánchez.
Negotiations with the player are well advanced, with only minor details remaining to be worked out.
