Leagues around the world are on hold, and national teams are back in the spotlight.
The same is true for the French national team, which is in a transitional phase. After 14 full years, Didier Deschamps stepped down from the team, with Zinedine Zidane taking the reins. The new head coach is now tasked with building a team with a clear playing identity and high standards.
According to reports from France, one of the first major changes “Zizou” is considering is moving Kylian Mbappé from the center of the attack to the wings.
For years now, Mbappé has established himself as a pure center forward, but Zidane wants to take advantage of his diverse skills as a left winger. It remains to be seen whether Mbappé himself will accept this, as he is not exactly known for his unconditional obedience to his coaches.
