Andrea Colombo has been appointed by UEFA to referee OFI’s away match against Rennes in the second round of the Europa League group stage.
The Cretans are traveling to France in high spirits following their 2-0 victory over Hoffenheim in the tournament opener. The match against Rennes is scheduled for Thursday (10/15) at 10:00 p.m.
The 35-year-old Italian referee will be assisted by his compatriots Filippo Meli and Simone Sosa, while Norwegian Hagenes will be in charge of VAR, with Marco Di Bello serving as AVAR.
Colombo has experience with Greek soccer, having previously officiated Stoiximan Super League matches, including the Olympiacos–AEK (1-0) on April 2, 2025, the AEK vs. Olympiacos (1-1) on May 17, 2026, and the PAOK vs. Aris (2-0) on September 13, 2026.
He also refereed the match between the Greek national team and England at Wembley in October 2024, when Greece won 2-1 in the Nations League.
