Following the 2026 World Cup, the U.S. has expressed its desire to bid for the 2038 tournament as well! At least, that is what the website talksport.com claims, reporting that the 2038 tournament does not yet have a host, with the U.S. showing strong interest, believing it meets all the requirements.
Andrew Giuliani, executive director of the White House’s World Cup task force, told the BBC that no country is better prepared than the U.S. to host the tournament. He emphasized that the country already has the necessary stadiums and infrastructure, meaning the cost would amount to fewer billion dollars (approximately $2 billion), compared to the tens of billions required elsewhere.
The 2030 World Cup will be co-hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, while matches will also be held in Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay. The 2034 tournament has already been awarded to Saudi Arabia.
According to the report, U.S. President Donald Trump’s good relations with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, may boost the chances of a future U.S. bid. Giuliani also argued that the U.S. could even host a future tournament featuring 64 national teams.
