AEK appears to have found the “perfect fit” to strengthen its perimeter lineup in the form of Thomas Ertel.
Following the very important addition of Giannoulis Larentzakis, the club has one more transfer “outstanding” to finalize its roster ahead of the difficult and demanding season in Greece and the Stoiximan GBL, with the 37-year-old French guard being the main target of Dragan Sakota and the “yellow-and-blacks.”

In recent days, there has been a series of discussions between the two sides, as well as between the Serbian coach and Ertel, whom he had been evaluating throughout last season.
By all accounts, AEK and the veteran star are in advanced negotiations to finalize this major deal, which, if completed, it’s not out of the question that the player could arrive in Athens this weekend.
This is an excellent opportunity for AEK, which has been looking for a player with experience and skill who can contribute both in scoring as well as in playmaking, with the goal of forming a dynamic duo with Frank Bartley.
Last season, he played for Villeurbanne in the EuroLeague, making 25 appearances and averaging nearly 20 minutes per game. During that time, he averaged 9.2 points and 2.4 assists per game.
