Olympiacos and AEK will face off this afternoon at the “Andreas Papandreou” Indoor Arena in Peristeri (4:45 p.m.), in the first semifinal of the 2026 Stoiximan Super Cup.
Two days ago, the “Red-and-Whites” kicked off their EuroLeague campaign in the most impressive fashion, securing a comfortable 106-89 victory on the road against Vitoria in the tournament’s opener. In a game where Vezenkov and Dorsey shone, as did new acquisition Jean Montero, the Piraeus team displayed moments of exceptional play, though that doesn’t mean they don’t need to work on their game as the season progresses.
On the other hand, Enosis will play its first official game of the season tonight—and its first game overall in nearly two weeks. Recently, Dragan Sakota’s team has been plagued by injuries, as well as by a total of 11 cases of gastroenteritis that broke out among the team ten days ago, when the “yellow-and-blacks” returned to their training base after participating in the Rhodes tournament.
As for the roster, the Greek and European champions have no competitive issues; with Giorgos Bartzokas leaving Cory Joseph out of the eight-man foreign roster and bringing Cody Miller-McIntyre, Jan Montero, Evan Fournier, Tyson Ward, Embai Endiai, Doda Hall, Tyrique Jones, and Nikola Milutinov. Before the game, two foreign players will have to be cut from the roster.
For AEK, Greg Brown, Kisorn Fizel, and Derrick Williams are out due to injury, leaving Bartley, Joseph, Nole, Ertel, Pinkney, and Lekavicius making up the six foreign players. Lekavicius, in fact, is in the process of obtaining a Greek passport; however, he can be registered now as a foreign player and later make one of the changes allowed during the season, after which he will be counted as a Greek player in the league.
