Olympiacos continues its transfer hunt to finalize the last few moves that will complete the team’s roster. At the same time, the club is also making some changes to its organizational structure.
One of these involves the scouting department, where the decision was made to bring Tomás Benedet back to the club. A close associate of José Anigo for many years with the “Red-and-Whites,” he will take over as head of the scouting department. The Frenchman is familiar with Olympiacos, as well as its youth academies, where he worked for many years, and is now taking on a position of responsibility and high expectations that is directly linked to transfer matters.
At the same time, Christos Akkas, who held this position until recently, is expected to take on a new role. He will not, in essence, be leaving the club, but will assume a new and different position. This is because he will join the scouting department for the entire group of teams owned by Vangelis Marinakis and will work directly with Nottingham Forest, Rio Ave, and Olympiacos.
