Olympiacos’s transfer plans are moving full steam ahead, with the “Red-and-Whites” working on several major deals simultaneously, ahead of the start of summer training.
The most immediate development concerns David Carmo, as the club announced that the Angolan center back is expected to arrive in Athens in the early hours of Monday, June 29. His arrival at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport is scheduled for 5:10 a.m., via Lisbon, marking his return to the Piraeus-based club.
Carmo is preparing to don the Olympiacos jersey for the third time, having made a positive impression during his previous stints with the club. The 25-year-old center back wants to make a fresh start, leaving behind the difficulties of recent years and aspiring to once again become a key member of José Luis Mendilibar’s defensive line.
Meanwhile, the Greek champions are very close to finalizing the transfer of Petar Stanic from Ludogorets. Negotiations between the two clubs have progressed significantly, with the latest reports indicating that an agreement is all but finalized, and only the final details remain to be worked out before the deal is completed.
This transfer is expected to be one of Olympiacos’ most expensive this summer, as the total cost is estimated to reach eight million euros. At the same time, the “Red-and-Whites” are continuing their efforts to finalize the Joel Roca deal, seeking to close out another major transfer front.
Meanwhile, the case of Sofian Amrabat is taking a new turn. According to a report by the Turkish website Sporsal, Olympiacos is among the teams seriously considering signing the Moroccan international midfielder.
The report on Fenerbahçe mentions that Betis is interested in Amrabat, an offer is expected from a Saudi Arabian club, and Olympiacos has also entered the fray.
