Olympiacos has significantly stepped up its pace as the transfer window draws to a close, with several deals currently in the works and the name of Marcus Holmgren Pedersen now taking center stage.
The “Red-and-Whites” are close to reaching an agreement with Torino for the 26-year-old right back. Reports from Norway indicate that the two clubs have reached a deal worth 6 million euros, plus 2 million euros in performance-based bonuses. The next step involves discussions with the player himself, with optimism growing that the transfer will be finalized.
Meanwhile, efforts to sign Edson Alvarez continue. The Mexican midfielder has reached an agreement with Olympiacos, and the Piraeus-based club is now looking for a way to reach an agreement with West Ham. In England, they believe the deal is still on the table and could be finalized successfully.
Joakim Melle remains a key target, with Olympiacos pushing for a deal with Wolfsburg. Talks with the Danish player’s camp have progressed, while so far there has been no confirmed interest from Juventus that would change the situation.
In contrast, the situation regarding Gustavo Puerta has taken a negative turn. Despite the fact that Olympiacos has shown a willingness to meet the €16 million buyout clause, the Colombian midfielder does not want to come to Piraeus and prefers the prospect of joining Benfica. As a result, this particular transfer has effectively been blocked by the player himself.
The situation regarding Rubén Vargas also remains open, although the financial gap with Sevilla continues to pose a significant obstacle. At the same time, Brian Hill is lower down on the list and is being monitored as an alternative option for the wings.
