Olympiacos has entered the transfer market in search of a forward, as Ayoub El Kaabi’s injury has changed the “Red-and-Whites’” plans, and the coming days are considered crucial for the final decision.
The decision to strengthen the front line has already been made and is not directly linked to the case of Roman Yaremchuk. Even if the Ukrainian forward steps up his game and is included on the European roster, the club in Piraeus wants to add another goal-scoring player who can make an impact in domestic competitions.
Imanol Alguacil now also plays a key role in this matter. The Olympiacos coach is involved in the planning, as the player to be signed must fit the playing style and requirements of the brand of soccer he wants to implement. This factor appears to have shifted the initial focus to some extent, particularly following discussions at the management and technical planning levels.
One of the names that remains very high on the list is that of Mauro Icardi. According to reports from Argentina, Olympiacos has submitted an offer to the experienced forward and is awaiting his response. The financial terms are reportedly close to two million euros per year, with bonuses potentially raising his total earnings to as much as three million. However, the “red-and-white” club has not confirmed these specific figures.
Icardi’s case is not the only one under consideration. Toulouse’s Paulinho and Southampton’s Marius Mwadilamangi remain among the options under consideration, while other names have also been added to the list. The Piraeus club is reportedly pursuing multiple avenues, aiming to be ready to act immediately once they settle on the best possible solution.
