Imanol Alguacil has focused heavily on analyzing Levadiakos, knowing that the match in Boeotia will present entirely different challenges than the one against Jagiellonia. Olympiacos expects a more cautious opponent, one that prioritizes defense and lacks the Poles’ persistence in building their attacks from the goalkeeper, even under intense pressure.
The Basque coach is considering different options in terms of both players and positions. Chikini seems to be primarily being considered in midfield and behind the striker, while Alguacil is also considering the possibility of using Kostas Fortounis in a more central role, especially in games against teams that close down space. There are also thoughts of making changes in midfield, as the Piraeus club’s coach continues to seek the best balance.
In terms of formation, the 4-2-3-1 remains the primary choice for now, though that doesn’t mean it will be the only option going forward. Alguacil is seriously considering both the 4-3-3 and the 4-1-4-1, but his intention is to implement changes gradually so that the team can adapt to new roles and develop on-field chemistry without losing its competitive balance.
At Olympiacos, they take it for granted that Levadiakos will not follow Jagiellonia’s tactics. The Boeotians are expected to opt for a more direct style of play and protect their area more, without necessarily retreating entirely into defense. This also changes the way the “Red-and-Whites” will attempt to apply pressure and create scoring opportunities.
At the same time, Olympiacos will have a strong presence in the stands. The tickets initially allocated to fans sold out within a few hours, leading to the release of additional seats. With fewer than 500 tickets remaining, all signs point to more than 2,500 Olympiacos fans attending the match at “Lambros Katsonis” Stadium, while demand remains particularly high.
