Olympiacos’ transfer plans are entering the final stretch, with the “Red-and-Whites” picking up the pace just before the start of summer training.
David Carmo arrived in Athens early Monday morning, returning for his third stint with the club, while significant developments are expected in the coming hours regarding the other open transfer fronts.
The Angolan center back, who played for Oviedo last season, is returning to Olympiacos with the goal of once again becoming a key member of the defensive line. The 26-year-old center back was instrumental in the team’s 2024 Conference League victory, and now only the final formalities remain to officially complete his transfer.
Meanwhile, Balša Popović is also in Athens, undergoing the necessary medical exams, while Olympiacos has also signed 22-year-old Tsombanidis from Panserraikos, continuing to strengthen its roster.
The Piraeus-based club is waiting to finalize two more major signings: those of Petar Stanic and Joel Roca.
Only the final details remain to be worked out in both cases. Stanic is expected to be acquired via a standard transfer from Ludogorets, in a deal estimated to cost around 7 to 8 million euros, while the transfer fee for Girona’s Joel Roca is estimated at 4.5 million euros.
Today also marks the start of the new season for Olympiacos, as the players gather for the first time in preparation for summer training. Barring any last-minute changes, both Stanic and Roca will immediately follow in Karmo’s footsteps, so that José Luis Medilibar has as many options as possible from the very first days of training camp.
