Omonia issued an official statement providing an update on the 12 international soccer players who are on duty with their national teams.
As a reminder, the “Greens” have the day off and will resume training next Monday (September 28).
The announcement: “Twelve of our players will be absent from the ‘Ilias Poulous’ training ground over the next few days due to commitments with their national teams.
Fabiano, Kakoullis, Andreou, Christou, and Neophytou have been called up to the Cyprus Men’s National Team. Our national team will be competing in the Nations League. The first match is an away game against Montenegro this coming Friday, September 25. This will be followed by an away match against Latvia on September 28, and then two home matches against Armenia and Latvia at GSP Stadium on October 2 and 5.
Florin Tanase has been called up to the Romanian national team, which also has Nations League commitments. Their first match is this Friday on the road against Sweden, followed by a home game against Bosnia and Herzegovina next Monday. On October 2, Romania will play away against Poland, followed by a home match against Sweden three days later.
Jure Balkovec has been called up to the Slovenian national team. The schedule includes four Nations League matches, two at home against Scotland on September 26 and North Macedonia on September 29, followed by away matches against Switzerland on October 3 and Scotland on October 6.
Ljubomir Satka will bolster the Slovak national team’s efforts in the Nations League. The schedule includes four matches: on September 26 against Moldova at home, on September 29 at home against Kazakhstan, on October 2 away against the Faroe Islands, and on October 6 away against Moldova.
Jean-Kevin Duvern is on Haiti’s roster for the African Nations League. Home matches against Trinidad (September 25) – Costa Rica (September 28) and away matches against the Dominican Republic (October 2) – Costa Rica (October 5) round out the schedule.
Chrysis Evangelou and Pantelis Michael have been called up to the Cyprus U-21 National Team. Our national team is competing in Group 1 of the qualifying round for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship. The match schedule is as follows: Friday (September 25) Cyprus vs. Romania; Wednesday (September 30) Kosovo vs. Cyprus; Tuesday (October 6) Cyprus vs. San Marino.
Christos Konstantinidis has been called up to the Cyprus U-19 national team. Our national team will play two away friendly matches against Moldova on September 27 and 29.”
