Omonia got off to a… positive start this season, achieving one of its most important goals: qualifying for the group stage of the Europa League. In fact, the “Greens” combined their participation in Europe’s second-tier competition with a major victory, defeating Celta in their season opener.
At the same time, Omonia remains undefeated in the league, having earned eight points in four matches, with two wins and two draws. Their point total could have been even higher, however, as the “Greens” were held to a 0-0 draw against Omonia Aradippou in their season opener.
Moving forward, the league break gives Henning Berg the opportunity to work more with his team, following a packed schedule in Cyprus and Europe.
Particular emphasis is expected to be placed on Brewers and Akintola, who joined the roster late and did not have the necessary time to fully adapt. At the same time, the Norwegian coach will have the opportunity to improve the physical condition and match readiness of the available players.
