Kodi Hakpo has been forced to withdraw from the Netherlands’ squad for the upcoming matches in the current “window” of Nations League fixtures.
Consequently, he will not travel to Greece for the match against the “blue-and-whites” on the evening of October 1 at Toumba Stadium.
The Liverpool forward injured his left ankle before the 20-minute mark in Xavi’s team’s 2-1 victory over Serbia in Belgrade. He was forced to leave the game, and by Monday afternoon it became clear that the “Oranje” coach could no longer count on him.
Our national team hosts the Dutch this coming Thursday, following the two impressive results against Serbia and Germany, and hopes for a similar outcome, though they are, of course, aware that they’ll be facing a dangerous opponent with one player less at this time.
