Isaac Bonga will now be playing for Panathinaikos!
One of the “big announcements” teased by Dimitris Giannakopoulos has now come to fruition, as the 27-year-old forward has officially signed a three-year deal with the “Greens”.
The German international had asked for a little more time to explore his options for landing a good contract in the NBA, but the opportunity he was looking for never materialized, so—having already spoken with Željko Obradović in recent days—he gave his final “yes” to Panathinaikos.
The presence of the Serbian coach, with whom he had worked for nearly 15 months at Partizan, played a decisive role in his decision, as there was also interest from Real Madrid and Fenerbahçe.
Bonga is expected in Athens today (July 7) for his physical and will sign a three-year contract with earnings exceeding €6,000,000.
This is the third signing for the “clover,” as the acquisition of Moustapha Fall has already been announced, and Brancu Badio is also expected in Athens today to complete the formalities and sign a three-year contract that will earn him €4,500,000.
