Kalamata held its own in Peristeri, coming away with its first point in this year’s Super League!
The Black Storm found themselves trailing early on, as Atromitos opened the scoring with a spectacular shot by Samuel Moutousami just 50 seconds into the game, but they didn’t let that deter them and fought back, tying the match in the 52nd minute with an own goal by Dimitris Stavropoulos.
In fact, despite playing with ten men from the 73rd minute onward due to Juan Cataldi’s ejection, they withstood the home team’s pressure and held on to the valuable point until the end.
Thus, Kalamata showed character and gained momentum heading into the rest of the season, while Atromitos also remained on its first point of this season’s championship, though it cannot be satisfied with the result.
