Villeurbanne has set its sights on taking its game to the next level this summer, and so far it’s doing a fantastic job, as—following the high-profile signings of Sylvain Francisco and Nick Wheeler-Babb, as well as deals with Daniel Theis and Harmony Brooks, the team is preparing to finalize yet another signing, having reached a full agreement with Patty Mills.
The 37-year-old Australian guard is Tony Parker’s personal choice. The two know each other from their time together in the NBA, and the Villeurbanne coach believes that Mills’ experience, leadership, and mindset will significantly help build a team capable of competing for high-level goals.
Despite his age, Mills proved once again last season that he continues to perform at a high level. Playing for Tenerife in the Liga Endesa, he averaged 18.1 points and 2 assists, establishing himself as one of the top guards in the Spanish league.
