Panathinaikos hosts Burg at the “Telekom Center Athens” for the 8th “Pavlos Giannakopoulos” Tournament (9:15 p.m.), in a matchup that holds special interest due to the presence of Zeljko Obradovic, with “Clover” fans having their first chance to see the team’s new lineup up close.
“Zoc” will take the court at “Pavlos Giannakopoulos” for the first time as coach of the “Greens,” returning to a bench where he made history.
On the court, the “Clover” has several absences to contend with, as Kendrick Nan, Nikos Rogavopoulos, Moustapha Fall, Kostas Sloukas, Nigel Hayes-Davis, and Dimitris Moraitis are unavailable.
As a result, Obradović is called upon to make the most of the available roster and give playing time to players who are not expected to shoulder increased responsibilities during the season.
The “Greens” have already made a positive impression in Rhodes, where they defeated AEK 78–56 and Spartak Subotica 77–59, and now face their final test before the start of the season.
For its part, Bourg traveled to Athens to wrap up its preparations for the important tournament, with Frédéric Fautou looking to draw his final conclusions before the Betclic Elite opener against Saint-Quentin.
