Once again putting on an outstanding performance, Panathinaikos put on a show of strength in Almaty, crushing Kairat 5-1 in the second matchday of the Conference League’s League Phase. The “Greens” now have the opportunity, against CSKA Sofia at the OAKA, to go 3-for-3 and lay the groundwork for a top-eight finish.
This is already… on track, and according to Football Meets Data, the “clover’s” chances of finishing in the top eight of the League Phase standings have increased significantly.

FMD gives Panathinaikos a 47.9% chance of making the top eight and estimates they’ll earn 11–12 points. If they defeat CSKA, they’ll be one step closer to that goal, and the most crucial match will be against Nordsjælland in Denmark on November 26 for the fourth matchday of the competition.
