This year’s Panathinaikos team is quite prolific, and that was evident in yesterday’s 5-1 victory over Asteras AKTOR.

The “Greens” scored five goals in an official match for the first time in nearly two and a half years. The last time was on April 21, 2024, when they crushed Lamia 5-0 on the road, with Ioannidis and Bakasetas each scoring twice and Verbič scoring once. Since then, 2 years, 5 months, and 27 days have passed—or, if you prefer, 910 days.

Concerns over Ounai at Panathinaikos: He was carried off the field on a stretcher

To find Panathinaikos’s previous 5-0 home victory, we have to go back even further, nearly three years: It was on October 29, 2023, when the “Clover” defeated Panserraikos 5-0 at Leoforos, with two goals by Sporar, one each from Tserin and Mancini, and an own goal.
