Panathinaikos was unable to extend its winning streak in the EuroLeague, suffering its first loss in the competition to Hapoel Tel Aviv by a score of 81-91 in Round 6.
The “Greens” were far from their best, struggled to find consistency in their play, and, despite fighting hard until the end, they could not avoid defeat against a superior opponent, who capitalized on their weaknesses and secured the win at the Telekom Center, improving their record to 4-2.
Zack LeDay led the winners with 17 points, while Elijah Bryant scored 14 and Daniel Oturu added 13. The visitors made 9 of 20 three-pointers, enjoying a strong offensive night. For an off-night Panathinaikos (5-for-19 from three-point range), Sylvain Francisco scored 22 points and Branko Badić added 12.
In the next (7th) round, Panathinaikos AKTOR will host Baskonia (October 22, 9:15 p.m.), while Hapoel will host Virtus Bologna in Sofia (October 21, 7:00 p.m.)
Quarter scores: 25-29, 46-48, 61-68, 81-91.
