Panathinaikos will play its third preseason friendly (9:00 p.m.) this summer as part of the team’s preparations for the new season.
Following their very positive performances against Helmond and Ajax, featuring attractive soccer, plenty of goals, players regaining their form, and a game plan that demonstrates discipline and seriousness, the “Clover” will take the field in front of its fans.
More than 10,000 “Green” fans will gather on July 11 at the “Apostolos Nikolaidis” Stadium for the match against Grasshopper, to cheer on Jacob Nystrup, Peña, Kamara, Rastoder, Tsapra, and Stefan De Vrij.
In fact, De Vrij will make his first, unofficial appearance as a Panathinaikos player, since he did not play in either of the team’s two matches on Dutch soil.
Nistrup and his players will continue to experiment on the field and refine the 38-year-old coach’s tactics—which this year are taking the “Greens” in a very different direction this year, aiming to lead the “Greens” back to success.
Next up is a friendly against Rapid Vienna in Hungary on the 15th/07, followed by this year’s first European challenge in the second qualifying round of the Conference League against Paks.
