Panathinaikos will take a series of steps to honor Giorgos Vardinoyannis, who passed away today.
First, the club will submit a request to the Super League—which will likely be approved—to observe a minute of silence in memory of the deceased before the start of Sunday’s (10/18) match against Asteras Tripolis.

In addition, the “clover” players will wear black armbands as a sign of mourning for the death of the late “captain.”
After both teams finish warming up, a flower will be laid at a specific spot at the entrance to the stadium by representatives of both teams.
In addition, flowers will be placed in the suite from which Giorgos Vardinodiannis used to watch the games, specifically at the spot where he used to sit.
