Panathinaikos has turned its attention to the first match of the second qualifying round of the Conference League, as it faces Paksi on Thursday evening (July 23), in Hungary at 9:00 p.m.
The “Clover,” however, has learned which subgroup it will be placed in for the third qualifying round—if, of course, it advances from its two matches against the Hungarian team.
Jacob Nistrup’s team, therefore, if they manage to defeat Paks in the second qualifying round of the competition, will face one of the winners from the following four matchups:
Spartak Trnava (Slovakia) – CSKA 1948 (Bulgaria)
Liepāja (Latvia) – Austria Vienna (Austria)
Runavík (Faroe Islands) – Koper (Slovenia)
Neftchi (Azerbaijan) – Dinamo Minsk (Belarus)
Obviously, all eyes are on Austria Vienna and Dynamo Minsk, which are the strongest teams among those that the Shamrock might potentially face.
