Panathinaikos is looking to get back on the winning track in Europe. Zeljko Obradovic’s team hosts Baskonia at the “Telekom Center” for the 7th round of the EuroLeague (9:15 p.m.), looking to bounce back after their loss to Hapoel Tel Aviv.
The “Greens” are coming off a sweeping 95-75 victory over Peristeri Betsson, which allowed them to remain undefeated in the domestic league. Now, they aim to capitalize on their home-court advantage and get back on the winning track in the EuroLeague as well, in order to further improve their record, which currently stands at 5-1.
On the other hand, Baskonia is not having a good season, as they sit at the bottom of the standings with a 1-5 record. In fact, they’ve already been forced to make a coaching change, with the firing of Paolo Galbiati and the return of Velimir Perasović, while also losing one of its most important players, Marcus Howard, who now plays for Zenit.
On the court, Panathinaikos now has Kostas Sloukas and Kendrick Nunn back in the lineup; both played against Peristeri and looked in good form. Gerson Yabusele and Isaac Bonga are also back. On the other hand, Nikos Rogavopoulos remains sidelined, as does Lefteris Mantzoukas, who is still experiencing discomfort. The former is out, while the latter’s availability will be determined on Thursday. Baskonia will be without Chris Duarte, one of its top players so far this season.
Robert Lottermoser (Germany), Marcin Kowalski (Poland), and Sašo Petek (Slovenia) have been assigned to officiate the game.
