Taha Ali’s transfer to PAOK is well on its way. Discussions among the three parties have reached a stage where PAOK officials are optimistic that the 28-year-old winger will be signed.
In fact, efforts are underway to ensure that the Swedish international arrives in Thessaloniki by Tuesday at the latest to sign his contract, be officially announced, and be registered with UEFA for the Conference League qualifiers.
Ali will not play in today’s match against Göteborg in the Swedish league, which indicates that the transfer is in its final stages.
In contrast, there has been no substantial progress in PAOK’s efforts to sign Pantelis Hatzidiakos and Dimitris Giannoulis.
Taha Ali, who played for Sweden at the World Cup—appearing for 11 minutes against the Netherlands in the group stage and another 24 minutes against France in the Round of 32— has 20 goals and 19 assists in 132 appearances for Malmö.
