PAOK: When Is Diego Costa Coming to Thessaloniki? – The Details of the Deal

For the center of the defense
ALPHANEWSLIVE

PAOK is on the verge of completing yet another major transfer, as it has reached an agreement with Krasnodar to sign Diego Costa.

The 27-year-old Brazilian center back is expected in Thessaloniki in the coming days, to undergo the necessary medical and fitness tests and finalize his move to the “Double-Headed Eagle of the North.”

The agreement between the two clubs involves a loan of the player until the end of the season, and includes a purchase option that could reach eight million euros. The two clubs have essentially finalized the main part of the negotiations, and only the final procedural steps remain.

Costa is expected to travel to Thessaloniki after Krasnodar finishes its Russian Cup commitments. The Brazilian is currently with his team for the match against Fakel and is expected to pack his bags for Greece immediately afterward.

As soon as he arrives in Thessaloniki, he will follow the standard procedure required for every new PAOK transfer. Provided everything goes smoothly with his medical exams, he will sign his contract and officially complete his loan.

The 27-year-old center back will then join his new team’s training sessions and become available to Alessio Lisci, who gains another option for the center of the defense.

PAOK had made further strengthening this defensive line a priority, and the case of Diego Costa was the one that moved forward to a final agreement. The “black-and-whites” believe the Brazilian can bring quality, strength, and additional options to the back line during a season with increased competitive demands.
