The countdown to PAOK’s first friendly match of the summer preseason is coming to an end, with Alessio Lisi preparing to draw his first useful conclusions from the team’s performance.
The “Black-and-Whites” will face Beveren in Zaltbommel, in a match that will serve as the first competitive test of the new season. The PAOK coach took advantage of the final training sessions to try out different players, formations, and playing roles, while also having the opportunity to assess his players’ readiness.
Pre-season training continues at a brisk pace at the Zaltbommel facilities, where the main focus has been on tactics and assimilating the requirements of the game plan. During the last double training session, Lissi split the roster into two teams, focusing on tactical drills, reactions to second balls, and several position experiments, primarily at the fullback positions.
Meanwhile, the transfer front remains open for reinforcements in central defense. Pantelis Hatzidiakos remains high on PAOK’s list, with talks between the two sides progressing and optimism for a positive outcome.
Meanwhile, reports from Denmark indicate that Copenhagen is considering English center back Michael Parker of Swedish club Ergrite as a potential replacement for Hatzidiakos. This development could facilitate the departure of the Greek international defender, provided that the search for his successor is completed.
