PAOK: Neil Mope on the table—Kulenovic also in the mix, move for a “six” as well

Transfer Rumors
ALPHANEWSLIVE

PAOK is stepping up its efforts on the transfer front, with the management of "Double-Headed Eagle of the North" focusing its attention on both signing a forward and adding a defensive midfielder, as the coming period is considered particularly crucial for shaping the roster.

The need for another forward has become more pressing following the departures of Giakoumakis and Geremejev, with PAOK officials reviewing various options and attempting to arrive at the best possible solution. One of the names on the table is that of Marseille’s Neil Mope.

The 30-year-old French forward brings significant experience at the highest level. He has played for several years in England with teams such as Brighton, Brentford, and Everton, and can be deployed both as a center forward and in a more wide role. However, this is a deal that presents significant financial challenges.

PAOK’s list also includes 26-year-old Croatian forward Sandro Kulenović, who plays for Dinamo Zagreb. His situation had already been on the Thessaloniki club’s radar about two weeks ago, when the possibility of signing him on loan was considered. At that time, according to the information available, the Greek club had offered a loan fee of approximately 200,000 euros, while Dinamo was demanding a higher amount.

The Kulenović matter has not been abandoned and remains among the options under consideration, as PAOK is set to make its decisions regarding the top of the attack soon. The intention is to bring in a player who can provide immediate solutions, especially given the demanding schedule of upcoming matches.

At the same time, PAOK has decided to pursue a defensive midfielder as well. Club officials have already begun evaluating players who can fill that specific position, as Meité has been sidelined for a significant period of time, and adding an additional option in midfield is considered necessary.

At the same time, PAOK continues to invest in its youth academies, with nine players from the youth teams having signed professional contracts. This is yet another sign of the club’s intention to continue giving opportunities to young players, alongside the moves being made to immediately strengthen the first team.
