PAOK wants to make the most of the break in league play due to national team commitments and has therefore scheduled a friendly match against Levadiakos.
The game will take place next Friday (October 2) at the Nea Mesimvria Sports Center, kicking off at 12:00 p.m. and behind closed doors.
This test match will give PAOK’s coaching staff the opportunity to keep the players in competitive form ahead of their return to official competition. At the same time, players who haven’t seen much action so far are expected to get some playing time, so that useful conclusions can be drawn about their condition and readiness.
Meanwhile, there is positive news regarding Kiril Despodov as well. The Bulgarian winger is now in the final stage of his recovery following surgery for an injury to the big toe of his left foot and is gradually increasing his training intensity. He has been following an individualized training program since early July, and the next step is to return to training with the rest of the team.
Provided his recovery continues without any setbacks, Despodov is expected to be available to PAOK again in October. Last season, he made 30 appearances across all competitions—18 in the Super League, nine in the Europa League, and three in the Greek Cup—scoring a total of five goals.
