Regarding the departures of Semedo and Goldson, the “drama” surrounding Kakoulis’s transfer to Omonia, the departures, and the new additions to the team, Aris’s communications director, Kostas Papadopoulos
Here’s what he said in detail
Regarding the departures of Semedo and Goldson: “They both had contracts, but they weren’t part of the coach’s plans. We found a middle ground and terminated their contracts; we wish them all the best moving forward.”
On Goldson, who will continue with Apollon: “It doesn’t matter if he continues with Apollon; he’s free to go wherever he wants. It’s none of our business if he goes to Apollon.”
On the ten departures: “I think there are nine—I don’t want to start counting off the top of my head.”
On Kakoulis: “Kakoulis is an Aris player. There has been no change; the transfer will be finalized early next month.”
On Gomis: “The same applies to Gomis—until it’s officially announced, he’s an Aris player.”
On the many departures and few additions so far: “Don’t worry; it’s a given that many players will be coming. Please be patient; these are players we’re evaluating; for example, Alachi is a very good player who was wanted by other teams, and we signed him.”
On Foderingham: “I’m not going to go into detail about every player; others will be leaving as well.”
On players on loan: “They’ve all returned; the coach will decide, draw his conclusions, and make his recommendations. Given that we’ll be strengthening the squad, Aris will keep the players he wants and let go of the ones he wants.”
