Charalambos Parpetas criticized the refereeing following “Kyriá’s” 3-1 loss to Apollon in the second matchday of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan.
The press officer for the Famagusta-based team complained about the ease with which Da Cruz’s goal was disallowed in the 58th minute, while leaving open the possibility that the club’s management might file a complaint.
In detail: “The result is the same as in the first matchday, but the overall picture is completely different. We are satisfied with the players’ improvement and fighting spirit despite how the match unfolded. We still have room for improvement; we don’t believe the 3-1 score is indicative of how the game went.
We’re very concerned about how easily da Cruz’s goal was disallowed and how the penalty that led to Apollon’s 3-1 goal was awarded. I’ll leave it at that for now, and we’ll reevaluate our stance on certain matters. The possibility of filing a complaint will be reviewed by management next week.”
