Andreas Iakovou wrapped up one of the most important racing weekends of his career at the Slovakia Ring in Slovakia, securing five podium finishes over two days in the Alpe Adria International Motorcycle Championship and the BMU European Road Racing Championship.
On Saturday, the Cypriot rider from the FxCareer.eu Racing Team celebrated his first career victory in the BMU’s STK600 class, while also finishing 3rd in the SSP600 and 4th in the STK600 classes of the Alpe Adria Championship.
On Sunday, he added three more podium finishes: 2nd place in the BMU STK600, 3rd place in the SSP600, and—the highlight of the two-day event—2nd place in the Alpe Adria International Motorcycle Championship STK600.
This latest achievement holds special significance for Cypriot motorcycle racing. According to the team’s available data, this marks the first time a Cypriot rider has stood on the podium in this specific Alpe Adria category, adding a historic dimension to the success.
“Second place in the Alpe Adria was a personal goal I’d been pursuing for a long time. Most importantly, we proved that we can compete with the frontrunners. The work continues, and we now know that we can compete for top positions,” said Andreas Iakovou.
