The former president of Omonia, Doros Serafeim, passed away in the early hours of Sunday, July 5, 2026, following serious health issues he had been facing recently.
On Saturday, July 4, he was taken to the Emergency Room at Nicosia General Hospital, where he was admitted for treatment. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, he could not be saved and passed away late that night.
Doros Serafeim served as president of Omonia from 2000 to 2008, a period during which the team celebrated significant successes, winning two league titles (2001 and 2003), one Cyprus Cup (2005), and three Aspis trophies (2001, 2003, and 2005).
His contribution to the “clover” had begun several years earlier. Starting in 1996, he served as First Vice President and Head of the Soccer Department, helping the team win the Cup in 2000. His first role in the club’s administration dates back to 1968, when he assumed the position of Treasurer.
In addition to his long-standing involvement in sports, Doros Serafeim also had a distinguished career in the business world. From 1990, he served as Executive Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of PRINTCO, and later served as a Director on the Board of the Laikos Group until 2000.
