Anorthosis is continuing its… dialogue with Apollon regarding the refereeing decisions in yesterday’s (September 5) derby between the two teams at “Alphamega Stadium,”
In a new statement, Anorthosis released two photos, which it claims demonstrate the selective… bias of the VAR.

The first shows a foul on Andreas Chrysostomou, which preceded Ozbolt’s goal (47′), while the other shows the foul that led to the disallowed 2-2 goal by Da Cruz.
In detail: “VAR cannot operate selectively”
VAR was indeed introduced into soccer to help correct refereeing errors during a match. However, there is one essential condition: it must be applied equally to both teams.
Dimitris Solomou, from the VAR booth, unfortunately chose to apply it selectively, and referee Marios Christoforou went along with it.
The evidence is irrefutable. It speaks for itself, and the entire fan base can see it. It requires neither interpretation nor defense.
Anorthosis Famagusta will not yield, and it will not compromise. It will return to where its name, its people, and its history demand it be.”
