Leeds continues its Premier League campaign in the best possible way, celebrating a resounding 4-0 victory over Newcastle at Elland Road.
It took the home team just 32 minutes to lay the groundwork for the win, when Miley accidentally sent the ball into his own net to make it 1-0. Two minutes later, Leeds struck again, with Boggle capitalizing on an assist from Calvert-Lewin to double his team’s lead.
Before the first half had even ended, Leeds turned their victory into a triumph. In the first minute of stoppage time, Calvert-Lewin switched from playmaker to scorer and found the back of the net with a header off a cross from Muaremović, making it 3-0.
In the second half, the pattern remained the same, but the show wasn’t over yet. Leeds scored a fourth goal, with Okafor sending the ball into the net with a left-footed shot. After a throw-in by Abandu and a clearance by the Newcastle defense, the ball fell to the Swiss forward, who shot from inside the box and sent the ball into the corner for a 4-0 lead.
Thus, Leeds remains undefeated through the first four matchdays, now with two wins and two draws, while Newcastle suffered its first loss in this season’s Premier League and remains on 5 points.
