The possibility of Filip Petrushev returning to Red Star remains open, with discussions between the two sides having been underway for about 15 days, according to the Serbian outlet Sport Klub.
The Serbian forward/center’s future with Dubai BC is the focus of attention, as he was not used at all by Xavi Pascual in the game against Red Star, with the Spanish coach making it clear that the decision was entirely his own.

According to the Serbian report, a source close to Red Star confirmed that talks are underway regarding Petrusev’s possible return, though no agreement has been reached so far.
“Filip is not returning to Red Star at this time. However, discussions about this have been ongoing for about 15 days. We’re working on it, discussing it, trying our best, and who knows, maybe it will happen in the end,” the source said.
Petrov has played for Red Star during two separate stints, the 2022–23 season and the 2024–25 season. In the summer of 2025, when he left Olympiacos, he had received an offer from the Belgrade “Red-and-Whites,” but he chose to continue his career with Dubai BC, with whom he has a contract through 2028.
The arrival of Pascual and the changes to the roster appear to have affected his role on the Emirati team, with the possibility of a new stint at Red Star now on the table. For now, however, talks are ongoing, and the outcome remains uncertain.
