Iván Kiroz reported on the situation surrounding Azedine Ounai and his release by Girona.
The Spanish journalist pointed out, on the one hand, that the Catalan club has not reached an agreement with any other club regarding the transfer of the Moroccan midfielder.
On the other hand, he noted that the “clover” intends to make him… the Midas of the Greek league and the highest-paid player in the league.
Girona, however, is taking a wait-and-see approach, hoping for a more lucrative offer before letting him go.
“Girona has not reached an agreement with any club regarding Azz Ounai. In recent hours, Panathinaikos—which is offering him the highest salary in Greece—and PSV Eindhoven have been pushing hard. Ajax, which had reached a contract agreement with the Moroccan player, is withdrawing from the negotiations. “Girona is hoping that a major offer will still come in from another club,” the report stated.
